Privacy Policy

Your habits, logs and settings stay on your device and I don't receive them. The only outside service in the app is RevenueCat, which handles Pro purchases.

1Who I am

Habit Garden (“the app”) is made and operated by Ujwal Panday, an individual developer (“I”, “me”). There is no company. For anything in this policy, contact me at habitgarden.support@gmail.com.

2What the app stores on your device

To work, the app keeps the following on your device only:

InformationWhyLeaves your device?
Habit names, descriptions, icons, colours, categories, units, targets, start datesTo show and run your habitsNo
Your daily logs, streaks and historyTo draw your grids, calendar, insights and gardenNo
Reminder times and settings (theme, language, week start, garden choices)To schedule reminders and personalise the appNo
Pro status (cached)So Pro keeps working briefly if you are offlineComes from RevenueCat, see section 4

This information stays in the app’s private storage. I have no servers that hold it and no way to read it.

3What the app does not collect

  • No account, email address, name or phone number is requested by the app.
  • No analytics, advertising identifiers, ad networks or cross-app tracking.
  • No location data and no contacts.
  • No crash-reporting service at the time of writing. If that ever changes, I will update this policy before the change ships.

4Purchases and RevenueCat

Habit Garden Pro can be bought as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. I never see your card or payment details.

To tell the app whether Pro is unlocked, it uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States), a service that manages in-app purchases. RevenueCat may receive and process:

  • a randomly generated anonymous app user ID,
  • your purchase and subscription information (products, purchase dates, expiry, renewal and trial status, store receipt data),
  • technical data such as device and OS type, app version, language and country, and your IP address as part of normal network requests.

This is used only to provide and verify your purchases, restore them, and prevent fraud. It is not used for advertising. RevenueCat acts on my behalf for this purpose and has its own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. Because RevenueCat is based in the United States, this data may be processed there.

5Notifications

If you turn on reminders, the app asks your permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent from a server, and no notification token is collected by me. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings at any time.

6Motion sensor

The water effect in some habit orbs can tilt with your phone, using the accelerometer. This is processed live on your device, is not saved, and is never sent anywhere.

7Backups, sharing and exports

  • Backup: Pro users can export their data as a JSON file. The file is created on your device and you choose where it goes. I never receive it. The file is not encrypted by the app, so store it somewhere you trust, because it contains your habit names and history.
  • Restore: importing reads a file that you pick yourself.
  • Share images: share cards are drawn on your device. When you share one, it goes to the app or person you choose through the system share sheet. Their handling of it is up to them.
  • Support: if you email me, I will see your email address and what you write, and I will use them only to reply.

8Home screen widgets

If you add a home screen widget, the app shares the habit information the widget displays with the widget through storage on your device (an app group on iOS). Nothing is sent over the internet for this.

9Website and waitlist

This policy also covers this website. Until the app launches, the home page has a waitlist. If you join it, I store your email address, and the referral code of the person who invited you if there is one, so I can tell you when the app opens. The list is kept with Supabase, and the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. Sign-ups are rate-limited using a hashed form of your IP address, and the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page statistics.

The waitlist is separate from the app. The app never sends me your habit data. To leave the waitlist, email habitgarden.support@gmail.com and I will delete your address.

10How long information is kept, and deleting it

Data in the app stays until you delete it. Deleting a habit removes its data. Deleting the app removes the data stored by the app on your device. Copies you made yourself (exported backup files, shared images, or a device backup made by iCloud or your computer) are under your control and need to be deleted separately.

Purchase records held by RevenueCat and Apple are kept as long as needed to provide purchases and meet legal obligations. To ask for your purchase record at RevenueCat to be deleted, email me with your Apple order ID or receipt and I will pass the request on.

11Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to know what information is held about you, to access it, correct it, delete it, or object to its processing. Because I hold almost no personal information, most of it is already in your hands on your own device. For anything I do hold, or that RevenueCat holds on my behalf, email habitgarden.support@gmail.com and I will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.

I do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and I do not make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

12Children

Habit Garden is a general-audience habit tracker. It has no ads, no accounts, no social features and no tracking, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Purchases are made through the Apple ID of the purchaser, and Apple’s family controls apply.

13Security

Your data lives in the app’s private storage, protected by your device’s own security. Purchase traffic uses encrypted connections. No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, but there is no central database of your habits that could be breached.

14Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled in a meaningful way (for example adding analytics), I will make that clear in the app before it takes effect.
